  • Essential Job Functions:
    • Work to educate campus on trauma informed care, resources, and training
    • Assist with understanding all support and reporting options available
    • Support individual and group counseling sessions
    • If needed, assist with transportation and accompaniment to the local emergency room
    • Facilitate Peer2Peer support groups and racial trauma workshops
    • Available to respond and help with traumatic crisis events on campus

    • Applicants can chose to either be a: Campus Connector, Ambassador, Companion, or an Intern*
      • *Interns are encouraged to have at least one semester of volunteering with the program
    • Each position has different commitment times, times range from 1-2 hours a week to 2-4 hours a week

    • Teach the Camp Fire NJ curriculum in various, diverse classroom settings throughout New Jersey.
    • Work with the Program Director to evaluate and implement curriculum changes suggested by research and instructors.
    • Supervise and support site directors and program specialist to create a high-quality program.
    • Participate in program meetings, other staff meetings, workshops etc.
    • Responsible for gathering all necessary documents from the Camp Fire NJ office in order to administer programs, and to help facilitate the collection of data.
    • Responsible for completing Internal Case Management Forms.
    • Attend required trainings to maintain necessary and continuing educational and social development and equity.

    • CCS generally have 3-4 internship positions for Fall/Spring.
    • Must receive the student’s application to become an intern prior to their internal peer support scheduling, which is the end of June/December.
    • Once you submit your application, they will review, meet with the student, and then access scheduling/intern outcomes in August/January.
  • Essential Job Functions: 
    • Interns must display interest in working with peers who have intellectual disabilities in the academics, vocational, and/or campus life/residential pursuits.
    • CSS looks for students who are respectful to differences, can adapt a peer/peer modeling relationship and are open to training/direction.
    • Requires a high level of patience, flexibility, responsibility, and commitment.
    • All interns must attend the CCS mentor orientation to learn about the program philosophies and student needs.
