Accepting Interns for the Following Semesters: Winter 2025, Spring 2025
Essential Job Functions:
- Work to educate campus on trauma informed care, resources, and training
- Assist with understanding all support and reporting options available
- Support individual and group counseling sessions
- If needed, assist with transportation and accompaniment to the local emergency room
- Facilitate Peer2Peer support groups and racial trauma workshops
- Available to respond and help with traumatic crisis events on campus
Application notes:
- Applicants can chose to either be a: Campus Connector, Ambassador, Companion, or an Intern*
  - *Interns are encouraged to have at least one semester of volunteering with the program
- Each position has different commitment times, times range from 1-2 hours a week to 2-4 hours a week
- Applications typically start near the end of the semester

Essential Job Functions:
- Interact with clients through personal engagement or entertainment.
- Sit in on group, individual, and family counseling sessions.
- Sit in on intakes and evaluations.
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Build rapport with clients who were in the shelter.
- Shadow/interact with case workers, the clinical director, and the executive director.
- Help with clerical work such as answering/making phones calls and setting up files.

Application Process:
- CCS generally have 3-4 internship positions for Fall/Spring.
- Must receive the student’s application to become an intern prior to our internal peer support scheduling, which is the end of June/December.
- Once you submit your application, they will review, meet with the student, and then access scheduling/intern outcomes in August/January.
Essential Job Functions:
- Interns must display interest in working with peers who have intellectual disabilities in the academics, vocational, and/or campus life/residential pursuits.
- CSS looks for students who are respectful to differences, can adapt a peer/peer modeling relationship and are open to training/direction.
- Requires a high level of patience, flexibility, responsibility, and commitment.
- All interns must attend the CCS mentor orientation to learn about the program philosophies and student needs.
