Accelerated 3+2 Program with Counseling Education

Starting in Fall 2024, TCNJ will offer a 5-year program that combines our accelerated 3-year Bachelor’s in Psychology with our 2-year Master’s in Counseling. Students can pursue either the Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling programs at the Master’s level.

Applicants for this program must be eligible for the 3-year Bachelor’s track, which requires a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and at least two earned units of college credit, which can come from any combination of transferred Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or community college credits. You can read more about the accelerated Bachelor’s options at TCNJ on this page. Students on this track will fully complete their Bachelor’s degree by May of Year 3, and will subsequently begin taking graduate courses in June. Students in good standing* in the 3+2 program do not need to produce additional application materials or application fees to matriculate to their chosen graduate program.

* Please note that students accepted to this track will only be able to matriculate to the Master’s level if they successfully maintain at least a 3.3 undergraduate GPA and pass the standard Counseling admissions interview at the end of Year 2.
